1. The Core Promise: Zero-Knowledge Architecture
PixelStudio is designed with a privacy-first architecture. Unlike traditional online converters, we do not require you to upload files to a cloud server.
- We do not see your files.
- We do not store your files.
- We do not transfer your files.
All manipulation (compressing, cropping, converting) happens mathematically inside your web browser’s memory using JavaScript and WebAssembly.
2. Information We Collect
Because we do not have a backend database for users, our data collection is minimal:
A. Automatically Collected Data (Hosting Logs)
While PixelStudio does not track you, our hosting provider (e.g., Vercel/Netlify/GitHub Pages) may collect standard server logs for security and performance monitoring. This may include:
- IP Address (for DDoS protection)
- User-Agent (Browser type)
- Referrer URL
B. Local Storage (On Your Device)
We may use your browser’s localStorage to save your preferences (e.g., Dark Mode setting, recent tool selection). This data lives on your device and is never sent to us.
3. Analytics and Cookies
Cookies: We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Analytics: We do not currently use third-party analytics (like Google Analytics). If we integrate privacy-friendly analytics in the future (like Plausible or Umami), this policy will be updated to reflect that they collect only anonymized usage data.
4. External Links
Our website may contain links to external sites (e.g., GitHub repositories or documentation). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these third-party sites.
5. Children’s Privacy
PixelStudio does not knowingly collect any personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal data at all, this Service is safe for all ages, provided it is used in accordance with the Terms of Service.
